Measure the building entrance, lift, stairs, doors and delivery route before ordering sofas, beds, tables or bespoke furniture in Alanya.
Measure the entire delivery route, not only the room
The route from truck to room is as much a part of the order as the final furniture position. Measure the site gate, parking turn, building entrance, ramp, lobby, lift door and cabin, stair landings, apartment door, corridor and room door separately. Record the narrowest width and lowest height, including projections such as handles, rails, fire cabinets and ceiling lights. Some Alanya developments use a different block entrance or service lift, so confirm the correct route with management before delivery.
Separate packaged dimensions from installed dimensions
The sofa width or headboard height in a catalogue is not its packaged transport size. Ask in writing whether legs, arms, headboards or table tops can be removed, the dimensions of every module and the external package size after protective material is added. For corner sofas, left-right orientation and the turning space of each module also matter. Bespoke pieces may need to be designed as transportable modules rather than fully assembled in the workshop.
Check turning space in lifts and stairs
A piece may pass through a door yet fail to turn on a tight landing. Measure the diagonal from the lift entrance to the opposite cabin wall, the cabin height and the true clear door opening. On stairs, assess tread width, distance between rails, landing depth, overhead clearance and the turning corner together. A simple cardboard outline or measured package mock-up is often clearer than numbers alone for a long sofa, storage bed or large table top.
Clarify building rules and the delivery window
Management may set moving hours, require a service entrance, lift protection, security notice or a common-area deposit. Confirm where the delivery vehicle can stop and whether busy summer conditions restrict access. If lift floors and walls need protection, agree in writing who supplies and installs it. Plan a safe short-term staging area that does not block neighbours' doors, a fire escape or the parking route.
Do not assume balcony or crane access
External lifting may seem attractive for a high floor, narrow stair or large glazed frontage, but it depends on access, ground conditions, balcony structure, weather, building permission and a qualified team. It should not be treated as a last-minute solution, because road or common-area use may need further approval. Even with a suitable balcony opening, safe attachment and a clear receiving area inside must be planned. Agree this method in advance with professional movers and building management.
Run delivery day with an installation checklist
Do not begin a large delivery before floors and walls are complete and fragile lights along the route are protected or removed. Keep the order list, module count, fabric or colour reference and room-by-room placement plan ready. Photograph damage or missing parts as packaging is opened, and check legs, connectors, doors and drawers during assembly. Delivery is complete only when access to the apartment door, balcony, sockets and air-conditioning service remains clear, packaging is removed and each item is safely installed in the correct room.
